The centenary celebration of Sree Narayana Guru proclamation നമുക്ക് ജാതിയില്ലാ

The centenary celebration of Sree Narayana Guru’s proclamation, "നമുക്ക് ജാതിയില്ലാ" (I don’t have caste), has been decided to be held by holding lectures, gatherings and processions in 2000 centers, state wide, from August 24th to August 28th commemorating the birth anniversaries of Chattambi Swamikal and Ayyankali, the two personalities who contributed much to our renaissance movements.

The Renaissance movements contributed much to the social changes of Kerala. Sree Narayana Guru had a leading role in these movements. Sree Narayana Guru came to prominence by advocating the outlook, "ഒരുജാതി ഒരുമതം ഒരുദൈവം മനുഷ്യന്” (One caste One Religion and One God for mankind) during a period when feudalism and untouchability ruled the roost. Sree Narayana Guru’s the great proclamation, “നാം പ്രത്യേക ജാതിയിലോ മതത്തിലോ ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്നില്ലാ(I don’t belong to a particular caste or religion) at the Advaitha Ashrama in Aluva caused the vast debates and speedy historical changes within our society. Sree Narayana Guru put forward the call to break down all barriers that separate humans within a society.

In the contemporary socio political scenario attempts are being made to misread the vision of Sree Narayanaguru, which worked beyond and led movements against religion and caste. In this context, it’s the need of the hour to discern and promote the ideas put forward by Sree Narayana Guru in its right sense. CPI(M) organizes such a program in this connection.
